Last year marked some historic wins for the Pathfinder. Redesigned for its fifth generation, the 2022 Pathfinder took the SUV segment by storm. So much so that it garnered various accolades like “Best SUV” by Sobre Ruedas and “Best Family Car” by PARENTS Magazine. Now for 2023, a new, bolder, off-road-inspired trim joins the lineup.
The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek is a thrilling, outdoor-inspired vehicle that is equal parts rugged and robust, as well as comfortable and convenient. The Rock Creek edition is on sale now at United Nissan Reno, proudly serving Reno, Carson City, Sun Valley, and Spark, NV.
Nissan designed the Rock Creek edition to be just as stunning as the great outdoors it was inspired from. Promotional photos for the new trim show off its exclusive Baja Storm color. The SUV is more than its good looks, though. Its exterior is designed to offer everything drivers need for those off-road adventures. To start, the Pathfinder Rock Creek features a tubular roof rack with up to 220-pound load capacity. Just the right amount for drivers to store all their outdoor gear. Similarly, the Rock Creek is equipped with 18-inch Beadlock-style wheels and all-terrain tires. The new wheels plus the added off-road-tuned suspension and 5/8-inch lift transform even the most difficult terrain into a breeze. Little details like Rock Creek badging and a modified front fascia further make the new trim stand out from the rest of the SUV lineup.
For smooth driving across any terrain, the Pathfinder Rock Creek needs to be equipped with a robust powertrain – and robust it is. Under the hood, the Pathfinder boasts a powerful 3.5 liter Direct Injection V6 engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. For its previous model year, this engine produced 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. However, thanks to revised fuel mapping, the Rock Creek edition has a boost in both of these numbers. With premium fuel, the Pathfinder Rock Creek produces 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the 9-speed transmission, the two create a smooth, direct vehicle response that delivers the right gear at the right time.
With its “built for adventure” slogan in mind, Nissan designed the SUV with a whopping 6,000 lb towing capacity. That’s plenty for towing boats, ATVs, trailers, or camp tents. Additionally, the SUV comes standard with Trailer Sway Control. It also comes equipped with Intelligent 4X4, meaning no matter which road you choose to take, the 2023 Pathfinder can handle it.
The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek has a fuel economy rating of 21 MPG city, 27 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined. Learn more on how you can improve fuel efficiency here.
Enjoy exploring the great outdoors from the comfort of the Pathfinder’s cabin. Inside, the SUV offers tons of space, both for passengers and cargo. Standard on the Rock Creek is the second row’s captain chair, which makes the SUV capable of seating 7 people. New for this trim is exclusive leatherette and fabric seating and orange contrast stitching throughout.
Inspired by the stillness of nature, the Rock Creek has a quiet interior. Thick glass, increased door isolation, and carpet with more cushion work together to make the cabin a quiet and comfortable space. Other convenience features include climate-controlled front seats, 2nd-row climate control, and heated rear seats.
Like all the vehicles on their lineup, Nissan equipped the Pathfinder with the highest standard of safety and technology. The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek comes with the following safety features:
Like the Pathfinder SV and SL, the Rock Creek also includes Nissan’s innovative ProPILOT Assist. This system is a hands-on, driver-assist technology that controls acceleration, braking, and steering. Details are still to be released, but it’s rumored that Rock Creek may also include Navi-link, which uses navigation map data to proactively reduce speed for upcoming freeway curves and also helps the driver slow for freeway exits.
In a growing tech-savvy society, the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek sets the bar even higher. The SUV has the following technology amenities:
The Pathfinder offers everything you need, no matter your lifestyle. Drivers can choose between 2WD and 4WD options, as well as five trim levels – S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum. Compared to other trims, the Rock Creek edition features exclusive items like off-road-tuned suspension, tubular roof rack, all-terrain tires, and Intelligent Around View Monitor. For outdoor enthusiasts or those who prefer the road less traveled, the Rock Creek is a great choice that offers quality, power, and performance.
