The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder: Power Meets Versatility

The all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder has received a redesign that lives up to all it can do. Going on 35 years strong, the 2022 model builds upon the vehicle’s heritage with updates inside and out. Over the years, drivers have praised the SUV for its rugged capabilities, and in an ever-flourishing culture, they’re looking for more. Now, the reinvented 2022 Pathfinder offers the highest standards across the board. Before you explore the outdoors, explore what the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder can do for you.

A bold facelift

Inspired by the original 1987 Pathfinder, the new 2022 model combines reimagine proportions with truck-like brawn. During production, every part of the vehicle was thoughtfully redesigned for maximum performance. The square front face, wide build, and blister fenders give the SUV a powerful look that equally matches its robust powertrain. Similarly, large tires further push the rugged feel, as well as add onto its strong off-roading capabilities. Tying it together is the vehicle’s iconic Nissan signatures, such as the V-motion grille and C-shaped headlights. To the rear, the back features slimmer LED taillights and its staple, oversized Pathfinder logo.

For the first time, the Pathfinder is available in 14 colors - five of those being new two-tone paints. It’s only the cherry on top of everything else the vehicle has to offer.

Backed by a forceful powertrain

The Pathfinder is as powerful as it is aesthetic. Every new Pathfinder comes standard with a 284-horsepower 3.5 liter Direct Injection V6 engine. The 9-speed transmission is also all-new, and paired with the engine, creates a smooth vehicle response. This also helps with fuel economy since its consistently delivering the right gear at the right time.

When Nissan says the 2022 Pathfinder is “built for adventure,” they mean it. The SUV has a 6,000 lb towing capacity - plenty for towing boats, ATVs, trailers, or camp tents. Even better, it comes standard with Trailer Sway Control, making hauling your gear easier than ever. If that’s not enough, the 4WD models include Intelligent 4WD with 7 different driving modes. Challenging terrain? Not a problem. The Intelligent 4WD system allows for an immediate take-off in low-traction situations. Drive in 7 modes including  Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut, and Tow. No matter which road you choose to venture on, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder can handle it.

Another update to the Pathfinder is the mount systems. The front update increases roll stiffness by 28 percent, while the reinvented shock absorbers and dampers in the back help increase rear roll stiffness by 14 percent. It doesn’t stop there, though. These renovations are coupled with a 50 percent increase in high-strength steel meaning drivers have a smooth driving experience each time.

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder’s fuel economy is rated 21 MPG city, 26 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined for 2WD models. For 4WD models, it’s rated 21 MPG city, 27 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined.

Decked out in technology and safety features

Like every Nissan, the Pathfinder is equipped with the highest standard of technology and safety features. Every 2022 Pathfinder comes standard with the following safety features:

  • 10 airbags (11 on Platinum trim)
  • Nissan Safety Shield 360
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Rear Automatic Braking
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • High Beam Assist
  • Intelligent Lane Intervention
  • Intelligent Driver Alertness
  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Backed by United Nissan Reno's Never Ending Warranty

Certain trims (SV, SL, Platinium) offer Nissan’s innovative ProPILOT Assist. This is a hands-on, driver-assist technology best used on open highways or stop-and-go traffic. On Platinum grades, the ProPILOT assist is paired with Navi-link. Together, the navigation map data can proactively reduce speed for upcoming freeway curves and also help the driver slow for freeway exits.

In a culture that’s techy-savvy, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder does not fall short. Each vehicle includes the following technology amenities:

  • 9.0-inch color touchscreen
  • NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Bose Premium Audio with 13 speakers
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor
  • Wireless smartphone charging (select trims)

More room than ever before

Rugged on the outside, upscale on the inside. In the Pathfinder, drivers and passengers can enjoy a luxurious, comfortable environment with plenty of cargo space. Loading the family inside is also now easier with standard 8-passenger capacity. Even more so, there is an option for a 2nd-row captain’s chair - another first for the Pathfinder.

While overall dimensions may be similar to previous models, thoughtful design changes added more interior volume. The 2022 Pathfinder now holds 164.6 cubic - over 10 more cubic feet from the previous model. Furthermore, the luggage box located under the cargo floor area has 54.1 liters of storage - up 20.8 liters from the previous model.

The 2022 Pathfinder does not skip out on comfort. Thicker glass, increased door isolation, and carpet with more cushion creates a quieter ride. Along with this, the Pathfinder features climate-controlled front seats, 2nd-row climate control, and heated rear seats.

Built for every lifestyle

The Pathfinder offers everything you need, no matter your lifestyle. Drivers can choose between 2WD and 4WD options, as well as four trim levels - S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The SV grade includes additional technology features, such as ProPILOT Assist. From there, the SL adds on Navi-link and wireless features. The Pathfinder Platinum rounds out the trims upgrading to a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, among other additions. A total of 35 accessories are available to optimize the adventure experience.
